Born and raised in the Great Lakes state, Dr. Szotko graduated The University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1999. He practiced general dentistry in both community health and private practice before moving to California in 2002. His focus is on adult restorative dentistry and cosmetics and aims to create a comfortable experience for each patient.
Dr. Szotko stays current on advanced restorative options by attending world class education forums with some of the leading dental educators in the industry. With great attention to detail and a passion for technology, Dr. Szotko uses implants, CAD/CAM ceramics and other modern materials to restore smiles and correct unsightly spaces from missing teeth. He finds true joy in getting to know his patients and helping them achieve their dental goals.
Dr. Szotko is a strong advocate for the profession of dentistry. He is a proud member of the California Dental Association, The American Dental Association, The San Diego Dental Society and The Academy of General Dentistry. He was most recently on the board of directors for The Dentist Service Company, a newly formed company that aims to help dentists achieve success in their dental careers. His past responsibilities have included chairing The Council on Practice Support, New Dentist Committee and Council on Membership, as well as a Delegate to The American Dental Association House of Delegates. Dr. Szotko also participates in many activities within the philanthropic arm of the CDA, The California Dental Association Foundation.
Dr. Szotko and his wife, Kimber, a San Diego native, met while attending U of M in Ann Arbor. Kimber, a dental hygienist, is now “CEO” at home to daughter, Peyton (6), a student at Torrey Pines Elementary School and son, Calvin, born in 2014. The Szotkos cherish their family time and are very happy to call La Jolla their home.
